Prosecutor General Kairat Mami has met with Daan Everts, Head of ODIHR/OSCE presidential elections observation mission in Kazakhstan, Tengrinews.kz reports referring to General Prosecutor's press-service. “General Prosecutor's office informed that 291 election-related applications from citizens and legal entities have been submitted to different state authorities, including the prosecution authorities,” press-release states. The majority of the applications are not related to violation of voting rights. Most of them contain requests to including a certain citizen into the voters' lists as per their current location, the press-service said. All applications were processing timely, cases of violations were eliminated, explanations were given where appropriate, Mami said. Head of ODIHR/OSCE mission said that elections process will be observed without prejudice and all observations results will be based on reliable facts only, said General Prosecutor's press-service. The meeting resulted in an agreement on interaction between the mission and General Prosecutor's office during observers’ trips to the regions of Kazakhstan. They also agreed to maintain constant, timely and full exchange of information should any violations of electoral legislation be revealed.
