Russian Topol missile hits target in Kazakhstan

Russian military conducted a successful launch of an intercontinental ballistic missile Topol RS-12M from Kapustin Yar in Astrakhan region, Tengrinews reports citing RIA Novosti.

The test launch of Topol was made on May 20 at 21:08 Moscow time. The training warhead of the missile accurately struck the target located in Sary-Shagan military range in Kazakhstan. According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, the purpose of the launch was to test the capacity of the intercontinental ballistic missile's combat equipment.

The launch of Topol in Russia left a peculiar and quite picturesque growing trace in the sky over several cities of Kazakhstan. According to social networks, the trace could be seen in Atyrau, Aktau and Uralsk in western Kazakhstan for some time.
