The military parade commemorating the 69th anniversary of the victory of the Soviet Union in the Great Patriotic War against Nazi Germany was held on Moscow’s Red Square on 9 May.
More than 11,000 military men, 151 military vehicles, and 69 aircraft and helicopters of the Air Force (IAF) of Russia were involved in the celebratory march.
It was the 140th parade for the Moscow territorial garrison. Squads of Moscow and Tver's Suvorov Military Schools, students of the Nakhimov Naval School, young sailors of Kronstadt - cadets of the first Russian Naval Cadet Corps in the recent history, as well as students of Aksai Danilo-Efremov Cossack cadet corps took part in the triumphal procession. The latter participated in Victory Parade only for the second time.
Advanced military equipment was displayed in the mechanized column: Tiger armored vehicles, BTR-82A armored transports, Typhoon ruggedized armored vehicles, T-90A tanks, multipurpose missiles systems Chrysanthemum-C, self-propelled howitzers Msta-S, anti-aircraft missile systems Buk-M2 and Tor-M2U, Carapace-C1 gun-missiles, mobile theater ballistic missile systems Iskander-M and Topol-M, as well as launchers for anti-aircraft missile system S-400 Triumph.
