As of the end of 2013 direct investments of Russia’s companies to Kazakhstan’s economy will make up $16 billion, Vechernie Vedomosti reports, citing Russia’s Trade Representative Aleksandr Yakovlev as saying. In the H1 2013, the investments figure stood at $8 billion, including direct investments of $570 million. Among those in presence in the Kazakhstan’s market there is Gazprom, LUKOIL, RUSAL, AvtoVAZ, TMK. Some Russia-based banks such as Sberbank, Alfa Bank, Rosselkhozbank and Svyazbank are also present in Kazakhstan, according to Mr. Yakovlev. As of now Kazakhstan accommodates about 30 000 companies involving foreign capital, including 10 500 Russia’s companies. Back in 2011 Russia’s investments to Kazakhstan totaled $12 billion, including $900 million in direct investments. The 2012 figure stood at $14 billion, with $1.8 billion being direct.
