Almaty is the most expensive place to live in from amongCIS cities: 20 thousand tenge ($133). The cheapest lodging is in Kishinev, Moldova (9 thousand tenge or $60). According to the website, Ukraine, Belarus and Kazakhstan are top 3 most popular destinations for Russian tourists in CIS. Since the beginning of the year Kiev, Minsk and Odessa were the choicest destinations for Russian travelers. “Ukraine is 3 times ahead of Belarus by the number of trips made by Russian tourists, while Belarus is 2 times ahead of Kazakhstan,” Olga Favarizova, head of the support service at Oktogo.ru said. “Kiev and Minsk are very popular weekend destinations, while Odessa is more popular on weekdays.” According to Oktogo.ru, Russian tourists spend an average of $110 for a hotel during their 3-day trips in CIS. While foreign trips of the same duration cost a little cheaper: $106.
