Nazarbayev signed law on use of secured communications

Nursultan Nazarbayev has signed a law on use of secured communications, Tengrinews.kz reports citing the President’s official website. “The President signed a law On amendments to certain Kazakhstan legislative acts on secured communications aimed to set legal basis for the use of secured communications,” the website writes. The draft law was presented to the Parliament in the beginning of February right after the Majilis (lower chamber) elections. According to the chairman of Majilis Commission on International Affairs, Defense and Security Maulen Ashimbayev, “this draft law is developed for regulation of the social relations arising from encryption and provision of government communications”.
