Kazakhstanis to rest on September 24 for Kurban-ait

Kazakhstanis are getting one day off for the Kurban-ait holiday in September, Tengrinews reports citing egov.kz.

The Muslim holiday is celebrated from September 24 to 27 this year. Kazakhstanis are resting Thursday, September 24, the day of Kurban-ait.

In accordance with the Labor Code of Kazakhstan, the first day of Kurban-ait celebrated by the Muslim calendar is considered a holiday.

On Kurban-ait a special prayer is traditionally made in mosques. People read Koran and offer sacrifices on this day.
