Tengrinews.kz - The Ministry of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry has no leverage over Kazakhstan's telecom operators. This was stated by Vice Minister Askhat Orazbek.
"I was asked about this last time, and I will answer: we have no leverage over tariff regulation. We have no ready-made tool for putting pressure on operators," Orazbek said at a briefing in the Senate.
The official also admitted that he is unhappy with the increase in tariffs for communications and the Internet.
"I will not say this as a vice minister, but I will say it as a person: as a citizen of this country, I do not like how tariffs are growing. Therefore, I share the indignation that people have about the increase in tariffs. But, on the other hand, I understand the reasons for the operators, as a vice minister. That is why there is such a dual answer here," he clarified.
