US Deputy Secretary of Energy Daniel Poneman will be visiting Kazakhstan October 10-15, the Press Service of the US Embassy in Kazakhstan reports. According to the Embassy, Daniel Poneman is to attend the World Free of Nuclear Weapons forum to voice a special message on behalf of US President Obama. He will also attend a ceremony to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the Semipalatinsk nuclear testing site closure, as well as the 8th session of the Kazakh-US Committee for Energy Cooperation. Besides, he is expected to discuss energy issues with Kazakhstan government officials.
