Tengrinews.kz - Residents of two villages in the North Kazakhstan region have decided to stop selling and consuming alcohol, according to the regional prosecutor’s office.
As part of the “Law and Order” concept, the villages of Zhambyl and Shagyrsai made a significant step toward strengthening public order by fully rejecting the sale and consumption of alcoholic beverages.
“At community meetings in both villages, all attendees unanimously supported the initiative to promote a healthy lifestyle,” the agency said.
Local shop owners responded to the villagers’ decision by voluntarily removing alcohol from their shelves and halting further deliveries.
The initiative is the result of joint efforts by the prosecutor’s office, local authorities, and active residents, demonstrating a grassroots contribution to public safety and quality of life.
