Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev will attend the 2nd International Nuclear Security Forum to be held in 2012 in Seoul. “I am grateful for the invitation to attend the Forum in March 2012. It is with great pleasure that I accept the invitation”, President Nazarbayev said at the joint press-conference with President Lee Myung-bak of South Korea in Astana August 24. The 1st Nuclear Security Summit was held in Washington in 2010 and was attended by 40 world leaders. The Washington Summit focused exclusively on nuclear security. The Fukushima nuclear disaster has added a new twist, providing the impetus to broaden the Seoul Summit agenda to include nuclear safety and place a higher priority on radioactive materials.
