Tengrinews.kz - President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev took part in a flag-raising ceremony held at the Atameken Ethno-Memorial Complex in Astana to mark the Day of State Symbols, citing the Akorda press service.
The ceremony began with a report delivered to the President by the commander of the honor guard.
Following that, the national anthem was performed, and the flag of the Republic of Kazakhstan was raised.
Addressing participants, Tokayev congratulated them on the holiday and emphasized the importance of state symbols for the country.
“State symbols are attributes of our independence. The emblem, the flag, and the anthem embody our statehood and demonstrate to the world that Kazakhstan is a sovereign nation. The raised flag represents the spiritual strength of our people. Every year, we raise our turquoise flag high to honor this day. We must remain faithful to our ancestors’ legacy and proudly carry our banner. Our sacred duty is to pass it on to future generations,” Tokayev said.
The President noted that Kazakhstan’s flag is recognized around the world and now flies outside the United Nations headquarters. He highlighted that Kazakhstani climbers have planted it atop the world’s highest peaks, and athletes have carried it to victory on international podiums.
“This year, our troops independently carried out a peacekeeping mission under the sky-blue flag for the first time. Our flag is known across the globe. The achievements of our people and state show that Kazakhstan is a strong and forward-looking country. This is the essence of true patriotism,” Tokayev added.
