Tengrinews.kz - Another restriction will be introduced for those sentenced to restricted freedom or probation in Kazakhstan. The corresponding amendments were included in the draft law on eliminating excessive legislative regulation in healthcare, which was approved by the Mazhilis deputies in the second reading today.
As part of the work on the bill, deputies introduced amendments aimed at banning convicted Kazakhstanis sentenced to restricted freedom or probation from participating in gambling. Thus, those serving non-custodial sentences will still be prohibited from placing bets, visiting casinos, and engaging in any form of gambling.
Additionally, the document proposes a ban on advertising betting companies or totalizators.
Overall, the bill introduces legal provisions aimed at eliminating excessive legislative regulation and improving the healthcare sector. For example, it proposes including screening tests for the early detection of oncological diseases in the list of services provided under the Guaranteed volume of free medical care (GVFMC).
The bill also includes amendments to improve the mechanism for forming an independent expert commission to review cases of harm caused to patients’ lives and health as a result of medical activities.
Deputies voted in favor of the bill and sent it to the Senate for consideration.
It is worth noting that last year, government officials were banned from gambling. In September, amendments to the law on gambling and lottery activities came into effect.
