Over 50 foreign extremist websites closed in Kazakhstan

51 foreign extremist websites have been blocked in Kazakhstan, Tengrinews.kz reports citing Kazakhstan General Prosecutor's Office. “The Prosecutor's Office is taking steps to halt operatrion of certain websites spreading extremist and religious information and propagating terrorism and distributing other information forbidden by law. Measures have been taken, websites propagating terrorism and religious extremism have been closed down,” official representative of the General Prosecutor's Office Zhandos Umiraliyev said on September 1. 10 thousand websites are being monitored as of today. Saryarka court of Astana delivered a judgement on unlawfulness and ruled to block 51 foreign websites in Kazakhstan for promotion of religious extremism and terrorism. “The court ruling has come into effect. The work in this direction is being continued,” General Prosecutor's Office noted.
