Aleksandre Vinokourov won a gold medal for Kazakhstan on the first medal day at London Olympics-2012. The Kazakhstan cyclist came first in the 248-km road race leaving behind Columbian Rigoberto Uran right before the finish. Norwegian Aleksander Kristoff was the bronze winner of the race. Another Kazakhstan cyclist Assan Bazayev was 42nd.
