Representative of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) linked the food prices increase in the Customs Union member-states with the global economic changes, Tengrinews.kz reports. Deputy Director of the IMF's Middle East and Central Asia Department David Owen expressed his opinion during presentation of the report called Prospects of economic development: Caucasus and Central Asia in Almaty. “The Customs Union already exists and the food prices grew. The main reason behind it are the global prices, not creation of the Customs Union,” Owen said answering the journalists' questions.
