German-made mineral water with high content of mercury was discovered in one of the supermarkets of Aktau, Interfax-Kazakhstan reports. “It was mineral water with grapefruit and lemon from Germany. The tests revealed that Schwarswald Sprudel lemon mineral water contained 0.0055 mg/kg of mercury, at the allowed content of 0.005. Grapefruit water had the mercury content of 0.006 mg/kg,” Tlektes Atchibayeva, state control inspector of the oblast's department of technical regulation and metrology, told the journalists. According to her, the department made an act of incompliance on the bottled water failing to meet safety requirements and issued an instruction to the supermarket to eliminate the whole lot of goods. Managements of the supermarket was brought to administrative liability for selling the goods without a compliance certificate, Atchibayeva said. The suppliers of the mineral water are currently being checked.
