Almaty is warned of possible earthquake March 18-20

Almaty might experience earthquakes between March 18 and March 20, Chief of Biophysics Department Viktor Inyushin of told Tengrinews.kz. The Al-Farabi Kazakh National University professor linked this possibility with the activity of the south-eastern part of the Asian platform that is currently demonstrating high seismological activity. He said that Almaty Oblast might experience earthquakes of as much as magnitude 2. Inyushin this earthquakes would not pose a threat to the region’s population.
