A security guard of the Belarus Embassy in Kazakhstan has been attacked in Almaty, Tengrinews reports citing the press-service of the city's Internal Affairs Department.
"The police regiment inspector of diplomatic representation security of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kazakhstan, who served at the Embassy of Belarus in Kazakhstan, was attacked at around 3:00 a.m. on November 5, 2013," the message says.
The policeman was hit on the head with an unidentified object. He was brought to the hospital with a closed craniocerebral injury and a brain contusion.
It is unclear whether he saw the attacker.
The reasons of the attack are also unclear. There have been no reports on any damage caused to the Embassy and its property or on anything being stolen from the Embassy.
"A special investigation group has been created by the Almaty Internal Affairs Department to solve the case. The investigation into the crime is underway," the Internal Affairs Department reports.
