English teacher from U.S. murdered in Shymkent

A U.S. citizen who was teaching English in the Language Academy in Shymkent died under unknown circumstances last Friday, December 2, KazTAG reports citing law-enforcement authorities. The body of the 23-y.o. foreigner was found in one of the residential buildings not far from his colleague at around 5:00 p.m. Confirming the American's death, oblast Interior Department stated that the investigative group did not discover any signs of forced entry or struggling in the rented apartment. The investigator are not pursuing a robbery version as the main one, because a check of the apartment showed that no belongings of the foreigner were missing. Police has confirmed that the victim's head was covered with a plastic bag. “Criminal case on murder charges has been initiated,” Interior Department said. According to the police, circumstances of the foreigner's death will be known after a medicolegal investigation. According to Interior Department, the murdered U.S. citizen obtained his registration from the migration police in September.
