Kazakhtelecom to create the biggest Data Center in CIS

Kazakhtelecom (national telecommunications company) will construct the biggest Data Processing Center in CIS in Pavlodar, Tengrinews.kz reports, referring to the company's public relations office. Data Processing Center (DPC) that will be situated at the area of 1000 square meters will be equipped with servers for data processing and storage. It will systematize and reserve the data for Internet resources, register new domain names and provide both virtual and physical services. According to Kuanyshbek Yessekeyev, KazakhTelecom chairman this data processing center will be of the highest reliability. The center It is going to be set up the way that all the maintenance works can be made during the regular operation of the Data Processing Center without taking it offline. This innovation project is developed jointly with Hewlett-Packard's Critical Facilities Services. Askar Zhumagaliyev, Transport and Communications Minister, and Aleksandr Roy, Hewlett-Packard CIS Consulting head took part in the Center's opening ceremony via a video conference call. Zhumagaliyev praised the Data Center's potential. “Data Processing Center computing and data storage facilities enable us to reduce an aggregate cost of IT-infrastructure handling by means of effective usage of technical capacities, for example, load transfer and administrative expenses reduction,” the Minister said. “HP's international experience in construction, maintenance and transformation of Data Processing Centers will allow Kazakhstan to become one of the key players in the world IT market,” Yerlan Duysenbin, HP Kazakhstan-Kyrgyzstan executive director said. The Data Processing Center launch is scheduled for September 2012. 12 KazakhTelecom Data Centers provide their services throughout Kazakhstan at present.
