“There were three very difficult stages and very talented competitors. In the final, only 6 violin players were chosen. One of them was my daughter Meruert,” Gulnar Kapasheva, the mother of the winner, said.

According to Kapasheva, besides the main prize Meruert also won three special prizes: “For the best performance of Mozart’s Concerto”, “For the superior performance technique ” and “For the youngest winner of the competition”. Meruert performs in the under 28 years age category.

The victory at the prestigious competition will open doors to the biggest international competitions for the talented violin player from Kazakhstan.
