Tengrinews.kz — The State Revenue Committee (SRC) of the Ministry of Finance has explained how well-known comedian Nurlan Saburov fulfills his tax obligations. According to the agency, the artist is registered in Kazakhstan as an individual entrepreneur.
According to the data provided by the SRC, Saburov registered as an individual entrepreneur on March 21, 2023. His type of business activity is concert activity.
Tax officials also reported that, according to the information systems of state revenue bodies, Nurlan Saburov has been fulfilling his tax obligations as an individual entrepreneur since 2024.
Kazakhstan’s general tax administration procedure applies to Saburov.
“If discrepancies are identified in the activities of individual entrepreneur N.A. Saburov as a result of in-house control, state revenue bodies will take tax administration measures provided for by tax legislation,” the response to the editorial office’s official request said.
According to the latest data from the SRC website, Nurlan Saburov has no tax arrears in Kazakhstan.
What else the SRC said
The agency also answered questions about how an entrepreneur can continue operating in Kazakhstan after a long absence.
If the individual entrepreneur registration was not closed, there is no need to register again; it is enough to update the registration data if necessary, for example, the address or type of activity.
If the entrepreneur officially ceased operations, they must register again as an individual entrepreneur in order to work in Kazakhstan.
In addition, the SRC clarified the rules for filing declarations. If an individual meets the criteria established by the Tax Code, for example, has certain foreign assets, independently declared income or other grounds provided by law, they are required to submit an income and property declaration, form 270.00. In certain cases, an assets and liabilities declaration, form 250.00, is submitted first.
The declaration under form 250.00 must be submitted by September 15 of the year in which the declaration obligation arises, while the declaration under form 270.00 must be submitted by September 15 of the year following the reporting year.
Saburov banned from entering Russia
In February this year, it became known that popular Kazakhstani comedian Nurlan Saburov was banned from entering Russia for 50 years on January 30. The decision was made “in the interests of the country’s national security, compliance with the law and protection of traditional spiritual and moral values.”
The star was detained at Moscow’s Vnukovo Airport after returning from a holiday in Dubai. The comedian refused free deportation to Dubai and bought a ticket to Kazakhstan himself. On the morning of February 7, he arrived in Almaty.
On February 8, Nurlan Saburov commented on the ban on entering Russia. In an Instagram story, he said he did not intend to discuss the situation publicly and that lawyers would handle it.
Earlier, a video appeared online alleging that Nurlan Saburov had provided financial assistance to Russian servicemen involved in the conflict with Ukraine. In connection with this, the KNB launched a check into Nurlan Saburov.
Later, in response to an official request from Tengrinews.kz, the KNB said that the checks concerning Saburov had been completed and that no signs of an offense had been found.
