Tengrinews.kz — In August 2026, Kazakhstanis will have 10 days off with a five-day workweek. Unlike in previous years, there will be no additional day off at the end of the month: Constitution Day has officially been moved to March 15. Tengrinews.kz has prepared a calendar of days off and working days so that you can plan your vacation, trips and final summer weekends in advance.
August 2026 holiday schedule
Starting in 2026, the additional holiday at the end of August will no longer be observed. This is because Constitution Day is now officially celebrated on March 15, and August 30 has lost its status as a public holiday.
As a result, a five-day work week in August 2026 will consist of:
- 21 working days;
- 10 days off.
For those on a six-day work week, the month will include:
- 26 working days;
- 5 days off.
No additional public holidays are scheduled for August.
Why Constitution Day is no longer in August
Effective July 1, Constitution Day in Kazakhstan is officially celebrated on March 15. This change has been established in the new edition of the country's Constitution.
Previously, the public holiday was observed annually on August 30 and served as an official day off. This date has now been removed from the list of public holidays, meaning Kazakhstanis will no longer receive an extra day of rest at the end of August.
