Gani Kasymov, leader of the Party of Patriots congratulated Nursultan Nazarbayev on a splendid victory, Tengrinews.kz reports. Senator also thanked the citizens who voted for him. Kasymov said that the voting results show that Kazakhstan is following the correct path in building a democratic state and ensuring pluralism. “I am very proud that CEC published the information about our party,” said the senator. “Around 200 thousand people voted for us. This is a serious platform for participating in the parliamentary elections. I would like to thank the supporters for their selfless efforts made to support this challenging competition.” Kassymov noted that the atmosphere was good and there was no political pressure. All candidates had access to media. Pre-election campaigns were fair and democratic. According to the preliminary data of the Central Election Commission, Nursultan Nazarbayev received 95.5 percent of the votes. He is followed by Senator Gani Kasymov from the Party of Patriots with 1.9 percent, communist leader Zhambyl Akhmetbekov with 1.4 percent and ecologist Mels Yeleusizov who received 1.2 percent of the votes.
