Kazakhstan volleyball club Almaty took the second place at the men’s Asian Volleyball Club Championship in Indonesia after losing to Iranian Paykan 0:3 (16:25, 15:25, 19:25) in the final, Tengrinews.kz reports referring to the press-service of Kazakhstan Volleyball Federation. At the pool stage club Almaty had five victories and 1 defeat. It lost against Iran. During play off the Kazakh club gained two more victories by defeating Vietnam and Japan . The final match took place in the Sriwijaya Sports Hall in Palembang, Indonesia. By winning the finals Paykan won a spot in the FIVB Men’s Club World Volleyball Championship to be held in Doha, Qatar in October 8-14. This is not the first or even the second time that Iranian Paykan wins this Championship. This year is their sixth time in a row.
