Gani Zhailauov, Kazakhstan 60-kilogram weight league boxer, has reached the quarterfinals of London Olympic Games, Tengrinews.kz reports, citing Vesti.kz. 27-y.o. Zhailauov fought against Jai Bhagwan of India in the 1/8 finals. The first round finished with the score of 3:2 for the Indian. The second round was going along the same scenario, but Zhailauov learned the way his rival fought and managed to win 10:3. Kazakhstan athlete got an advantage and scored 16:8 in the final round of the match and won over the Indian boxer convincingly. Kazakhstan boxer advanced to the 1/8 finals by winning the match against Sailom Ardi of Thailand with the score of 12:12 by additional criteria. Zhailauov will fight against Cuba’s Yasniel Toledo Lopez, who won over China’s Qu Liu 14:10 in the 1/8 finals. Earlier Kazakhstan heavyweight Ivan Dychko reached ¼ quarterfinals by winning over German Eric Pfeifer 14:4.
