Kazakhstan athlete wins silver in rowing at Universiade

Kazakhstan athlete Sergey Yemeliyanov became the silver winner of the 1000 meters rowing event at the Universiade in Kazan, Vesti.kz reports. Yemeliyanov covered the distance in 4 minutes 11.515 seconds. Tamas Kiss (4.10.837) from Hungary won the gold and Russian Ilia Shtokalov (4.12.668) took the bronze. Yemeliyanov's medal was the 10th silver for Kazakhstan's national team. Kazakhstan also had 2 gold and 14 bronze medals. By that time some of the winners were returning from Russia back to Kazakhstan. Almaty Kazakh Academy of Sport and Tourism arrange a welcoming ceremony to honor the winners and participants of the 27th Summer Universiade 2013.
