The fight between Kazakhstan boxer Gennady Golovkin and Russian Dmitry Pirog has been approved by the World Boxing Association (WBA), Tengrinews.kz reports, citing Vesti.kz. The fight between WBA middleweight world champion Gennady Golovkin and WBO (World Boxing Organization) world champion in the same weight is scheduled for August 25 and will be held in the United States. The boxers will fight for the WBA champion title. Earlier Tengrinews.kz English reported that Golovkin had defended his WBA middleweight world champion title by knocking out 28-y.o. Japanese Makoto Fuchigami. The fight was held in Ukrainian city of Brovary. The Japanese boxer got a dissection above his right eye in the first round of the fight. Golovkin knocked down his rival in the second round. By the end of the first minute of the third round Fuchigami was on the floor again. He managed to stand up, however. But after several more of Golovkin’s well directed blows referee decided to stop the fight.
