Golovkin-Chavez fight might take place in the fall of 2014, Tengrinews reports citing Vesti.kz.

Bob Arum of Top Rank said that he had restarted negotiating with Chavez Jr. The promoter added that there was some progress in negotiations of the Golovkin fight. According to Arum, they are close to reaching a compromise. If Arum is right, then the highly anticipated Golovkin-Chavez fight will take place this fall.

Earlier, Arum said that the negotiations were over and both boxers were looking for other opportunities. Chavez Jr. (48-1-1, 32 КО),  despite his interest in fighting Golovkin (29-0, 26 КО) of Kazakhstan on July 19th in Los Angeles, asked for the money Top Tank could not pay. As for Golovkin, since the negotiation over a fight with Peter Quillin failed, the Kazakhstani boxer might face Danial Geale next.
