35 Kazakhstan junior athletes will participate in the 2014 Youth Olympic Games that will be held in the Chinese city of Nanjing, Tengrinews.kz reports, referring to Yeldos Chikenov, director of the Elite Sport and International Relations Department of the Directorate of Staff National Teams. It will be the Second Summer Youth Olympic Games for Kazakhstan athletes aged 15-18. The Games will be held on August 16-28 in China. 300 Kazakhstan young athletes will compete to gain the licenses to the Second Youth Olympic Games. The majority of athletes will have a chance to qualify during the 3rd Kazakhstan Youth Games that will be held in May-July 2013. Kazakhstan athletes will compete in weightlifting, track-and-field athletics, boxing, water polo, swimming, gymnastics and rhythmic gymnastics, shooting sports and trapshooting, taekwondo, free-style and female wrestling, fencing, rowsport and canoeing in the 2014 Nanjing Youth Olympic Games, Yeldos Chikenov said. Nanjing 2014 Youth Olympic Games Organizing Committee has already presented the official mascot. Nanjinglele - the mascot of the games - is a small man that represents multicolored river pebbles that are the host city's unique natural feature. Nanjing city is known known for its rain-flower pebbles. President of the International Olympic Committee Jacques Rogge announced Nanjing the host city of the Second Youth Summer Olympic Games 2014 during the International Olympic Committee (IOC) session in Vancouver on January 10, 2010.
