Month of food, music, and treasure hunting in Almaty 20 августа 2015, 21:19

Let us all show some love to the City of Apples on its birthday. To celebrate the Day of Almaty, locals and guests of the city are invited to 50 events, from musical performances to quests.

The celebration traditionally opens with the open air Orchestra Parade that takes place on August 25, 26 and 27 at the Abay Square in front of the Republic Palace (crossing of Abay and Dostyk streets). The musical event is followed by the festival of contemporary art Artbat Fest (pedestrian part of Zhybek-Zholy street near Tsum mall). Among new events taking place in Almaty are festivals such Watermelon Festival on August 29 in front of the Museum of Kazakh National Instruments (in the 28 Panfilov's Park).

A subway has been nicely integrated into the city infrastructure in past few years. This year, a number of musical concerts will be hosted at metro stations of Almaty.

For the active ones, Apple Quest offers exciting assignments and treasure hunting games with hints and tips hidden in  museums of Almaty, metro stations, theaters and parks.

Among other interesting events are the festival of music Gakku Dausy, musical awards EMA 2015, the Eurasia Film Festival and Carnivals of Dolls.

Culinary Battle – August 29 in the park near Abay’s Opera House on 110 Kabanabai Batyr Street.

Symphony Orchestra Concert – September 11 at Zhambyl’s Phillaromic Hall, 23 Tole bi Street.

2nd Music Festival Gakku Dausy – September 13 at Astana Square, Tole Bi street between Panfilov street and Ablylai Khan street.

Nurly Zhol – Oner Zholy Exhibition – September 14 at Zhibek Zholy metro station. 

Multimedia Exhibition Dream Alma-Ata – September 16-26 at Dostyk Plaza on the corner of Dostyk Avenue and Zholdasbekov street.
