Thai Buddhists have recommend their government to follow the example of Kazakhstan, Tengrinews reports citing the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan.

In Bangkok, Ambassador of Kazakhstan to the Kingdom of Thailand Marat Yessenbayev met with a member of the executive committee of the Supreme Patriarch of Thailand, rector of Mahachulalongkornrajavidyalaya University Phra Brahmapundit.

The rector of the Buddhist University praised Kazakhstan's achievements in interethnic harmony and the role of Nursultan Nazarbayev in the processes. This shows deep trust of the people to the policies of the government, Phra Brahmapundit said.

"Speaking about Kazakhstan's policies the Rector of Mahachulalongkornrajavidyalaya University recommended the government of Thailand to adopt Kazakhstan's experience in ensuring peace and harmony and maintaining the atmosphere of mutual understanding between representatives of different faiths," the Ministry said.

Representatives of Buddhism from Thailand regularly take part in the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions in Astana. Interethnic tolerance and stability of Kazakhstan, according to the rector Phra Brahmapundita, is a shining example for many countries.

The rector was handed an official invitation to participate in the V Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions in Astana. The Congress will take place on June 10 and 11.
