Kyrgyzstan Ministry of Energy is considering suspension of power export to Kazakhstan because of water shortage in Toktogul water reservoir, KazTAG reports. “We are considering suspension of power export. But Kyrgyzstan-Kazakhstan inter-government commission will have to decide on that. This is a complicated issue, but there is a water deficit in Toktogul water reservoir and we have to supply power to our own people,” KazTAG cited Kyrgyzstan Minister of Energy and Industry Osmonbek Artykbayev. According to him, the current volume of water in the reservoir equals to 16 billion cubic meters. Kazakhstan is the only importer of Kyrgyzstan power.
