Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev met with members of the International Council of Management Consulting Institutes during his official visit to Austria, Tengrinews.kz reports citing the President’s press-service. The meeting covered the economic situation in Europe amid the global economic crisis and its consequences for the European Union. The parties discussed prospects of development of the Common Economic Space and the Customs Union, cooperation of Kazakhstan with the EU, and possibilities of applying experiences of European countries in development of small and medium entrepreneurship and rational use of Kazakhstan’s energy potential. “We are interested in the situation in the European Union. Experts are talking about a disintegration in the EU and Barrozu’s suggestion to create a federation of the European countries and unite the financial systems. We are interested how these processes can affect Kazakhstan. We are currently working on a new agreement on cooperation and partnership with the European Union,” Kazakhstan President said. The members of the Council, in their turn, noted that they have been working in the last few years jointly with Kazakhstan government on a range of important issues, including Kazakhstan’s entry into the WTO, analysis of new tendencies in Kazakhstan economy and discussion of the current international issues.
