John Ordway discusses terrorism in Kazakhstan

Prosecutor General Askhat Daulbaev have discussed fighting against extremism and terrorism with the Charge d'Affaires of the United States in Kazakhstan John Ordway, Tengrinews reports referring to the press service of the General Prosecutor's Office. Mr. Daulbaev and Mr. Ordway discussed their concerns and shared their opinions on terrorism. They acknowledged the advanced level of cooperation that the country's had achieved and discussed further cooperation in the framework of the existing agreements. Their meeting's agenda also included a wide range of issues related to fighting transnational crime, terrorism and extremism. The U.S. Charge d'Affaires and Kazakhstan Prosecutor General reiterated their readiness to continue developing and strengthening the anti-terrorism cooperation. Prosecutor General Daulibaev updated Charge d'Affaires Ordway on the key aspects of the supervisory and human rights activities of the General Prosecutor's Office, stressing that protection of human rights is a priority for the prosecutors. Before returning to Kazakhstan as Charge d'Affaires this year John Orday used to serve as the U.S Ambassador in Kazakhstan from 2004 to 2008. So the Prosecutor General congratulated him on the reappointment, welcome him back and wished good luck in the diplomatic work, noting that the experience gained in Kazakhstan and other post-soviet countries would facilitate Kazakhstan-American relations.
