A street or a square named after Astana will appear in the capital of Hungary, Liter writes citing Hungarian Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Kazakhstan Imre Laszlóczki. According to him, the onomastic commission of Kazakhstan’s capital made a decision to name one of its streets Budapest. In return, the mayor of Hungarian capital István Tarlós is going to name one of the streets or squares of Budapest after Astana. According to Laszlóczki, culture and education relations between the two countries are picking up. The visit of Tarlós to Astana will be followed by a visit of Astana Akim (Mayor) Imangali Tasmagambetov next April. The coming meeting of the mayors of two two capitals will include signing an extended agreement on cooperation between the cities. The parties will also discuss holding the Days of Kazakhstan Culture in Hungary and the Days of Hungarian Culture in Kazakhstan. Besides, the mayors will discuss cooperation with the leading universities of Budapest. “As I said before, Hungary and Kazakhstan are in the beginning of a new stage in their relationships. Lack of a direct air flight is currently the only barrier. But I am sure that this issue will be resolved over the course of time,” the diplomat added.
