Kazakhstan will enjoy additional three days off for December holidays, Tengrinews reports. According to the Holidays Law of Kazakhstan, the First President’s Day that is celebrated on December 1 is a public holiday and the Independence Day - December 16-17 - is a national holiday. Both holidays are days off. December 1 – the First President's Day -- is Sunday, so, according to the law, the next day becomes the day off. This means that besides Saturday, November 30, and Sunday, December 1, Kazakhstan will also have a rest day on Monday, December 2. According to the law, the Independence Day is celebrated for two days - December 16 and 17. This year these are Monday and Tuesday. This makes three December weekdays the additional days off for Kazakhstan. Kazakhstan celebrated the new public holiday - the First President’s Day - for the first time last year.
