Ilya Ilyin takes selfie with Kazakh PM

Ilyin met the President at the Astana Opera. Posting the “Selfie of the Year” on his Instagram account, Ilyin signed the photo “with our dear Presidet Nursultan Abishevich Nazarbayev!”.

 

Akorda’s press office captured the Selfie of the Year in the making from a different angle.

Earlier in November, Ilyin won the World Championship for the fourth time straight. The weightlifter dedicated his victory to the President of Kazakhstan. In turn, Nazarbayev congratulated Ilyin on his victory over the phone and made plans to meet the sportsman in person.
