Head of Kazakhstan National Space Center (Kazkosmos) Talgat Mussabayev said that Kazakhstan will not ban launches from Baikonur in relation to the recent crash of Progress M-12M spacecraft, Interfax-Kazakhstan reports. “Kazakhstan will not be taking any measures. Why would we ban launches if the accident caused no damage and losses to Kazakhstan party?” Mussabayev said. Earlier Tengrinews.kz English reported that Russia has grounded its Soyuz rockets after one of the unmanned craft crashed shortly after blast-off while carrying tons of cargo for the International Space Station. "The decision has been taken to halt launches of Soyuz carrier rockets until the reasons for the accident become clear," an unnamed Russian official told Interfax news agency.
