September 28 lower chamber of Kazakhstan Parliament ratified an Agreement on voluntary military support to Kyrgyzstan, Tengrinews.kz reports. According to deputy Defense Minister Talgat Zhanzhumenov, the support will include transfer of armoured vehicles, cars and mortar launchers to Kyrgyzstan's army. He noted that no additional funds are required for this, as Kazakhstan army has these vehicles “in excessive quantities.”
Deputy Minister said that the Agreement is signed to enhance security in Central Asia. Besides, the document will help develop the Armed Forces of Kyrgyzstan. Kyrgyzstan, in its turn, will oblige to not transfer the property received from Kazakhstan or the rights of its use to any third parties.
