Kazakhstan’s citizens keeping a total of $23.49 billion with Kazakhstan-based banks

Kazakhstan’s citizens keep a total of $23.49 billion with Kazakhstan-based banks, the country’s Vice Finance Minister Ruslan Dalenov wrote in his Twitterб Tengrinews.kz reports. $9.2 billion of the amount are FX-denominated deposits. As of January 1, 2013, Kazakhstanis kept a total of $22.3 billion, with $8.7 of the amount being FX-denominated deposits. Earlier the country’s media reported individuals’ deposits grew by 20.9% for a year from July 2012. The average deposit per Kazakhstani in the H1 2013 stood at $1209, $200 up against the indicator of the H1 2012. The average deposit per Almaty resident for the period stood at slightly over $6534. Almaty is the largest city of Kazakhstan and the former capital city.
