“I believe EXPO-2017 will have a great economic effect; small and middle businesses will be among those profiting from the event. Taking into account construction works, around 20 000 jobs will be created to cater to the event”, he said.

The speaker didn’t provide details on how much Kazakhstan has invested or how much is expected to be gained; however, he assured the investments will be definitely recouped. “We are having a feasibility study completed. Within two weeks we will get the findings, including cost estimates”, he said.

“I am confident EXPO-2017 will leave a great legacy behind (…) some generations to come will be grateful for the infrastructure in place”, he added.
