Kazakhstan President establishes state award for scientists

Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev has instructed to establish Al-Farabi State Award for Scientists, Tengrinews.kz reports. “I have decided to establish Al-Farabi State Award for Scientists for breakthrough researches and introduced innovations. It will be awarded annually in seven categories. In the beginning the award will equal to $100 thousand and we will increase it gradually,” the President said at the meeting of the Foreign Investors Council. He noted that the government’s task was to channel the scientific potential into solution of tasks that Kazakhstan will benefit from. “Foresight researches and orders from the real economy should be be main focus in the choice of the projects,” he said.
