Heads of Kazakhstan state authorities may have to resign for subordinates' bribery 21 февраля 2012, 14:22

Kazakhstan Public Service Agency prepared a draft law making heads of state authorities liable in case their subordinates commit corruption crimes.

Kazakhstan Public Service Agency has prepared a draft law On liability of heads of state authorities in case of corruption violations of law by their subordinates, Tengrinews.kz reports. “The draft law that we have already sent out to all the public bodies envisages a liability for heads of state authorities, who are political and state officials, requiring their resignation in case one of their subordinates is found involved in corruption crime and is made criminally liable for it,” head of the Agency Alikhan Baimenov said. According to him, the resignation may be accepted or not accepted at the discretion of the person who appointed the political or state official in question.
