A Syrian national has been fined for throwing a cigarette butt in Astana, Tengrinews reports citing the press service of the Astana court.


A Syrian national has been fined for throwing a cigarette butt in Astana, Tengrinews reports citing the press service of the Astana court.

Specialized Interdistrict Administrative Court considered the administrative case against the Syrian citizen who had thrown a cigarette butt near City Mall shopping center. The foreigner was charged under the Article 434 part 1 of the Administrative Offences Code of Kazakhstan - Disorderly Conduct that among other offences includes "pollution of public spaces, parks, squares". It was established during the hearings that the Syrian citizen had a residence permit in Astana.

"The offender pleaded guilty in court and admitted throwing a cigarette butt to the ground. The offender repented of his deed," the press service of the City Court said.

The Syrian citizen was sentenced to a fine of 13,874 tenge ($75). The man has to pay this amount within thirty days from the date the judgment comes into force.
