Tengrinews.kz – The construction timeline for Kazakhstan’s first nuclear power plant may reach 12 years, the Atomic Energy Agency reported.
According to the agency's press service, the estimated completion date for the construction of the nuclear power plant in Kazakhstan is between 2035 and 2036.
“Global practice shows that the period from design to construction and commissioning of a nuclear power plant takes 10 to 12 years. Therefore, the estimated completion date is 2035–2036. Rosatom confirms compliance with these plans,” the statement said.
Earlier, the Atomic Energy Agency reported that Rosatom had been selected as the leader of the international consortium for the construction of the first nuclear power plant in Kazakhstan.
