President Nazarbayev and King Abdullah II of Jordan have phone talks

Kazakhstan’s President Nursultan Nazarbayev and King Abdullah II of Jordan have discussed bilateral ties on the phone, Tengrinews.kz reports, citing the President’s website. “Kazakhstan’s President Nursultan Nazarbayev and King Abdullah II of Jordan have had a phone conversation to discuss the current state and prospects of the bilateral ties of the two nations and the current state in the region”, President Nazarbayev’s Press Office reported today, April 27. Earlier this month the two sides signed an MoU on bilateral consultations between the two foreign ministries. The consultations are expected to facilitate further cooperation in various realms, Press Service of the Kazakhstan’s Foreign Ministry reported at that time. Diplomatic relations between Kazakhstan and Jordan were established February 8, 1993. Kazakhstan’s Embassy in Jordan was opened in July 2007. Jordan’s Embassy in Kazakhstan was opened in April 2007. According to the Kazakhstan’s Agency for Statistics, trade turnover in 2010 stood at $ 21.8 million, with exports making up $ 21.2 million and imports totaling $ 0.6 million. The two nations have signed a total of 15 inter-state documents that have laid a legal framework for the multi-faceted cooperation.
