Today, June 28, Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev suggested to create a food fund for Islamic countries, Tengrinews.kz reports. A meeting of the OIC (Organization of the Islamic Conference) Council of Foreign Ministers is held in Astana today. “It is reasonable to develop a system of mutual food aid under the OIC. This problem is becoming more serious every day. This could be a regional fund capable of accomodating a food pool for interested countries. We are ready to place the headquarters of such fund in Kazakhstan that is a country exporting food,” Nazarbayev said.
