According to the ministry, there are 423 citizens in Kazakhstan at the age of 100 years and more. The oldest Kazakhstani citizen lives in the Ulytau region and recently celebrated her 114th birthday.
"It is worth noting that the southernmost region of the country has the highest number of centenarians. In the Turkestan region, there are 64 people aged 100 and older. The second-largest number of centenarians is in Almaty, the country's largest city, with 48 people aged 100 or more. The Almaty region ranks third, with 38 people aged 100 and older," the Ministry of Labor reported.
The top three oldest Kazakhstani citizens include residents from the Ulytau region 114 years old, Pavlodar region - 112 years old, and Turkestan region - 110 years old.
It is worth noting that October 1 is celebrated annually as International Day of Older Persons worldwide, including in Kazakhstan. This holiday was proclaimed at the 45th session of the UN General Assembly on December 14, 1990.
